Milano
James McIntosh, May 21 2013
After thoroughly enjoying our time in Pisa and Cinque Terre we headed north to Milan for one last stop before arriving at our next Italian home.
We arrived at the train station in central Milan at about one in the afternoon and immediately liked what we saw.
For the first time since arriving in Italy we actually saw businessmen and women walking around in suits going to and from work. Businesses and shops were open in the middle of the day and there was a sense of hustle and bustle about the place.
It was a refreshing change to say the least.
After a little bit of a navigation hiccup we arrived at our hostel Ostello Bello. Ostello Bello is hands down one of the best hostels we’ve ever stayed in and we have already made a booking to stay there when we return to Milan next month.
To be honest we didn’t do very much in Milan.
We went shopping, which seems like the right thing to do in the fashion capitol of the world, and basically just roamed around town and relaxed.
The highlight of our brief stopover in Milan was the Inter Milan football game we attended at San Siro Stadium on Wednesday night. Although Seire A apparently flew in Pac-12 officials for the game and Inter lost 3-1 to Lazio, we still had a hell of a lot of fun.
Since our stay in Milan was short, I’ll keep this blog post short as well and just leave you with some photos from the brief time we spent there.
Don’t worry, when we return to Milan in early June we plan to see Leo’s Last Supper (Club). Our chance to see a live football game at San Siro took precedence this time.

oh that’s awesome you got to see a game!!! i found Milan to be a beautiful city architecturally, but beyond seeing the Prada store and other high fashion boutiques, i didn’t find Milan as interesting as many of the other Italian cities. Seems like you’ve seen a lot of amazing places, though!
