About Malawi

Even though Malawi has the Big Five, its not necessarily the wildlife, but the people that will absolutely steal your heart in this country. Lake Malawi is pretty unbelievable, offering snorkeling, diving, swimming or just socializing with the local kids that flock to play in the 365 mile long ocean-like shores. At 52 miles wide, your inability to see the opposite shore will have you convinced this is anything but a lake. While there are mountains and wildlife reserves to explore, our favorite activity was visiting local schools and getting a small glimpse inside the life of those that call this country home.

When to Go: May-November is dry season, with the end of dry season being great for wildlife viewing.
